The Moody Miracle League’s mission is to establish and sustain a baseball/softballl program including a specially designed field for children and adults with any and all types of physical and/or mental challenge and to seek out other activities for these players and their families.

Parents typically say, “There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a child laugh and smile from pure joy.”

Now imagine smiles and laughter coming from the players with who face physical and mental challenges every day of their lives. If only for a few hours, playing ball puts these children on a "level playing field" with every kid in America. They hit the ball, they circle the bases, they score runs, they play the field and most of all, they simply enjoy themselves.

In several cities across the nation, Miracle Leagues have been established to fill recreational voids for these special players. Here in North Central Alabama, general population statistics indicate that several thousand local children could potentially benefit from such a league.

The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability cites advantages of being physically active: children develop physical skill and mental strategy, increase hand-eye coordination, and improve strength and endurance. Not only will the Moody Miracle League’s integrated program help disabled children and adults get the exercise they need, it will give them a new outlet for development of social skills and increased self-esteem. The children and adults will make friends, become less isolated and, at least for a few hours, become “a regular kid instead of simply a child with a disability.” We, the volunteers, are committed to assist these players and families any way we can.

The Moody Miracle League, Inc. is a charitable non-profit organization founded in 2003. We rely solely on generous contributions from any and all. Our main fund raiser each year is a motorcycle ride each summer. We are always looking for players, volunteers and donations.
